Pick!Pick!Pick!
A few days ago I found myself embroiled in one of those bloody, but oh-so-satisfying wars with my skin, bursting blackheads and pimples.
Pick!Pick!Pick!
One blackhead was particularly ripe, and ended up “exploding” across the bathroom mirror.
Oops.
For whatever reason (likely sloth), I didn’t clean it up at the time. I mean, I had emails to write, and writing is much more appealing than cleaning the bathroom mirror.
So, I told Alicia I’d clean the mirror that night, and got on with the day.
Only, I didn’t clean the mirror later. I ignored it, and pretended it was sparkling clean by looking the other way.
Chances are you’ve done the same or similar at some point.
The next day when I realized I’d not cleaned the mirror, I felt a wave of guilt, and was reminded of two quotes I’ve long since abided by related to how you act and carry yourself.
“How you do one thing is how you do anything”
“To do the right thing is always the right thing”
Plus one from my own pen (likely not entirely original), “your attention to detail transcends all aspects of your life.”
And with that, I promptly cleaned the bloody mirror.
What does this have to do with anything I usually talk about?
A lot, actually.
Since committing to building a location-independent lifestyle-focused business 2.5 years ago, I’ve made a point of doing little talking (IE. boasting on social media or to friends about what I’m going to do), and placing the bulk of my energy on operating under the radar, and taking relentless action.
In other words, telling MYSELF what I’m going to do, doing the damn thing, and then yapping about it.
This is not easy to do.
Talking big game without backing it up is a helluva lot easier than making moves in silence.
At this point, it’s become a point of honour and pride to call my shots, take the corresponding actions, reap the rewards, and THEN share the results.
Operating this way is also how you complete your missions, get what you want, and *seemingly* dance your way through life by waving a magic wand.
But, it’s not magic. It’s simply having a level of control so strong that it looks like sorcery to the untrained eye.
Which, coincidentally, is exactly what I’m going to be teaching inside the scrolls of the Sorcerers Guild print newsletter.
That is, how to gain a sorcerous level of control over your life that few will ever experience.
