Suffering is optional
Pain does not equal suffering.
Over the course of your life, you’re going to experience pain.
Pain is (usually) emotional, physical, and mental.
It will be of varying intensity and levels of “fuckity fuck fuck this shit.”
Building a business is painful when you can’t seem to gain any momentum or find so much as a whispered hint that you’re on the right track.
Transforming your health and physique is painful in the physical sense, especially if you’re battling your internal desire to Netflix & Snack instead of going to the gym.
Your relationships, fluid and dynamic as they are, will likely oscillate between pain and pleasure.
All of this pain…it’s inevitable.
But you do not have to suffer with any of it for longer than you chose to.
Pain is acute, while suffering is long-lasting.
From my experience, pain is what helps you grow the most.
Suffering drags you down. It does not serve you.
And each day you wake up, you have the ability to choose between using your pain as fuel for the growth you want, or to wallow in suffering.
You can choose to be the hero or heroine of your life, not the victim.
No matter what, death is coming for you.
In my eyes, that’s reason enough to buck your fears and start charging towards whatever your heart desires.
